Royal BC Museum, Victoria

News of the day - Jim has finally bought a hat. The little bald patch was in danger of getting burnt in the lovely sunshine so it was time!

Jim thinks the string is very useful to hold the hat on if it is windy. I was looking at it too and had other thoughts about its use!

At last a photo of a bear - a grizzly bear.

A woolly mammoth - it's huge!

Sea lions.

I forgot to say that we spent the morning in The Royal British Columbia Museum and that is where we got the above photos. Sadly the grizzly is stuffed and the mammoth is also stuffed but extinct! The sea lions are also stuffed but the scene really looked authentic.

The Cave of Supernatural Power

About the Cave of Supernatural Power.

An example of the elaborate headgear worn by some of the First Nation tribes.

Jim's latest fascination viewed while we lunched on the wharf in Victoria - a sea plane.

We then drove to Beacon Hill Park where we  took a long walk in the sun beside the coast.

A view from the walk in Beacon Hill Park.
The people who walk in this area have a really serious case of puppy love! There were almost as many dogs as people because most of them had 2 and even 3 dogs. All of them were equipped with little blue bags which they proceeded to fill with their treasures' treasure! We certainly don't need a dog and neither do you Geoffrey!

Home now to plan tomorrow's trip to Tofino, 317 km away on the west of Vancouver Island. We will pack a bag just in case we need to overnight somewhere.
