In early June 2026 we had a home exchange in Kilkenny just on the outskirts of the city with the centre being only walking distance away if we were so inclined. We arrived on a Saturday and chose to eat out Sunday lunch time in Kilkenny's Michelin star restaurant Campagne. We had a really lovely meal there for around 80 euros which we thought was a very reasonable price.
Kilkenny is a great place for foodies. We had breakfast in Aran Bistro and got great bread and pastries in Aran Artisan Bakery. Our exchangers had left us a lovely meal that they had sourced in Mise en Place so, to save time preparing meals, we also sourced 2 meals there. We had great coffee and cakes in Cake Face Patisserie and our final meal was in Zuni which was impossibly busy.
During our time in Kilkenny we visited Rothe House and Gardens, Kilkenny Castle and St. Canice's Cathedral. We went farher afield to Woodstock Gardens and Forest Park, Inistioge, Bennetsbridge and Jerpoint Abbey
