Ketchikan

Today we have a chance to learn about the first nations of Alaska. Our excursion is to Saxman Native Village where we have an opportunity to visit a living Native village. We will witness Native dancing and I have no doubt that Jim will try his hand at it. I'm sure it will bear similarities to his attempts at the Haka and Flamenco.

Ketchikan is the self-described :Salmon Capital of the World". It is located on Revillagigedo Island, 90 miles north of Prince Rupert, British Columbia. It has a very high amount of rainfall, raining 28 days per month. From the looks of things we are not getting any of the 3 rain free days in May! Not to worry - we have the gear!

More later!
