Settling in in Grimsby

Wednesday was spent organising Ted and Nancy's place for their return followed by a walk on the Lochside Trail where we finally managed to photograph a few quaint things that have obviously been done by the children in the area.

This was the sign outside a farm where farmer Roy sells his produce in the Summer and Autumn - he obviously has divine assistance!

A British Columbian leprechaun!

Wild water lilies in the lake along the trail.

My friend on the bridge is the strong silent type!

We had to get up very early on Thursday morning (2.30am) to get the sheets washed and the bed remade before we left Ted and Nancy's by taxi at 4.45am. The flight was uneventful and we caught the Niagara Airbus which brought us to our front door in Pleasant Grove Terrace, Grimsby. It was much hotter in Grimsby - and you know me and heat. Yes strands of damp hair all over the place and rosy red complexion on all of exposed skin! The neighbour, Eileen, who let us into Rick and Eva's house, said they hadn't had rain for a month and were praying for it. Their prayers have been answered - it has been raining practically non-stop since around 2am this morning. So little has been seen but I have used the time to unpack and organise so that we will feel more at home. I seem to forget every time how the first 24 hours or so feels strange and then, suddenly, it's as if we have been here (wherever we are) forever.

A sign in a garden centre outside Sidney that I forgot to share: Sunshine - We're so happy we wet our plants! Could do with some sunshine now but not too much heat!
