We took up Karmen's suggestion and decided to go to Silvensteinsee. She had warned us to either go early or after 10am because of traffic. We left at 10am. The traffic was heavy on the A99 but once we got past Bad Tolz we were fine. It was a spectacularly beautiful journey. Silvensteinsee is a reservoir in Bavaria and when it was being created a little village, called Fall, was flooded. Another Village, also called Fall was built at a higher altitude about 100 metres from the original. We had lunch in Fall and very nice it was too.
We returned via Bad Tolz, did the shopping and then went to the lake near the house for a walk and a beer.
