Last post from Santa Fe; Museum of Art

This morning was spent packing and doing housework to leave Elaine's house as we found it- or better! We stocked up on picnic food for the first day of our road trip tomorrow, ate the last of our food for lunch and went into Santa Fe to the Museum of Art.

The view of the New Mexico Museum of Art from the corner of the Plaza

                                                                      From the courtyard.

The fountain in the courtyard.

We passed through the exhibition An American Modernism as, with no artistic knowledge, it meant little to me. Then we went into a Southwestern Sampler which we liked.

There was an interesting exhibition called Looking Forward, Looking Back. This paired women artists of the past with women artists with new projects.

Remember cut out dolls and cut out clothes? This was a Native American's ironic take on them!

There were 2 sculpture gardens but they were very small and not awfully impressive.

The auditorium was really nice!

This was entitled Crossing the Border

Early tomorrow morning we are taking a taxi to the Santa Fe airport to collect a rental car and head off to Mesa Verde. Long journey!
