The day we went to Cassis we had only enough time to see the town and do a boat trip to the Calanques so we promised ourselves that we would come back and do the cliff drive (La Route des Cretes) from Cassis over Cap Canaille to La Ciotat. We did not find the French drivers any less impatient with careful drivers or any less foolhardy. There is little to say as the scenery speaks for itself though the photos do not do it justice.

We traipsed about La Ciotat with our main intention being to find a traiteur where we could buy a homemade meal we could heat up for dinner. But we had timed it badly as the 3 traiteurs we found did not open again in the afternoon until 4 pm. So we went back to Cassis hoping that traiteurs would be open as it would be 4 by then. Not a chance of getting parked! So we headed home stopping off at the Hyper U for a handy meal!

Lovely scenery and a lovely day - unexpected based on the weather forecast!
