We did the Route des
Cretes as far as Col de Legal. Then we went on to Salers to get some
cheese for Danielle. There was a biscuit/sweet shop. It had Langues
de Belle-Mere – like big tuiles made of sugar and flaked almonds.
We had a coffee at the bar Tabac and ate our Langue de Belle-mere –
lovely!
This is the Chapelle Monolithe de Fontanges. The Chapel Saint Michel is dug into a huge volcanic rock surmounted by a statue of the Virgin.
Chapter House in St. Chamant.
On our return to Aurillac we thought we would try the Volcano museum at the castle but it was closed again!
We got home early so I started the packing.
