Sunday September
23rd
We had decided to take
an easy day and lie in a bit and then go to the market. We had hoped
to go to the volcano museum in the afternoon but it was closed. So
instead of wasting the day we set off for a few of the villages we
hadn’t yet see – Laroquebrou, Maurs and Marcoles.
Eglise St. Martin, Laroquebrou.
The streets run in circles around the central Church in Maurs.
The Presbytere, a Catholic Church in Maurs.
We really liked Marcoles and, by chance, had a coffee at the 2 Michelin star restaurant – L’Auberge de la Tour. You could trot a mouse on the coffee it was so strong but the toilets were even bdeyond my standard. The menus were not horrendously expensive but it’s a bit far to go on our last night.
Eglise Saint Martin, Marcoles. A gothic Church founded in the 15th century from an old Benedictine Priory.
