September 23rd 2017 - Gouda Cheese museum and more Gouda plus market

Today was a chance for Mary to really see Gouda and to have a look at the Saturday market which was in a different venue because of the funfair. It was quite a scaled down event but we managed to get lots of scallops to cook for dinner. We also went to the Cheese museum which required ascending 2 storeys by spiral staircase!

As well as cheese, Gouda is known for its clay pipes.

Mary and I went to St. John's Church for Mary to see the stained glass windows. This is a nice photo of the front.

Selection of chocolates in one of the shops. Look, don't buy!

This is a crocheted wall hanging in a wool shop. I would love to do it but I couldn't understand the Dutch indstructions and the wool would be very expensive.
