Montieri - Chestnut Festival 2013

Sunday, the day we climbed to San Giacomo, was the Chestnut Festival in Montieri. This involved stalls of crafts, vintage car display, some music performances, roasting chestnuts, selling chestnuts, eating roasted chestnuts, eating chestnuts in vanilla syrup, eating breads - savoury and sweet -  made with chestnut flour, eating more chestnuts and drinking wine. Unfortunately I succumbed to a migraine after my first venture on the scene so it was up to Jim to record the happenings. Every time he returned to report he would say “Still sitting about chatting, eating chestnuts and drinking wine”! I was a bit worried for the drivers what with the combination of the wine and the twisty roads!
