KING CREDIT CARD COMPROMISED
Fionnuala King, currently on holiday in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada, received, what she thought was a routine call, a security call from her credit card supplier. Imagine her shock to discover that a total of 9 transactions had taken place on her credit card in a store called Marshalls of Miami, each transaction between 200 and 250 euros, and one transaction in Walmart! Marshalls of Miami is a store which stocks designer clothes for men, women and children. Clearly her credit card had been compromised and has had to be cancelled. An investigation has been initiated and Fionnuala now has no way of getting money or of paying for purchases. Her husband has generously agreed to fund the remainder of their holiday, providing that he is reimbursed on their return to Ireland. "These transactions took place in the last 2 days. I just can't understand how this has occurred. I am devastated! I will not be able to buy gifts for my family and friend's" said the unfortunate victim. Her husband added "The credit card company has certainly been on the ball. Fortunately we have only 10 days left. It would have been much more serious if it had been at the beginning of our holiday". The credit card company will take all necessary steps to discover how the fraud occurred and will furnish Mrs. King with a new pin and card when she returns to Ireland.
So there you are - hitting the headlines! I will certainly be curtailed in my spending as I could not bear the pained look on Jim's face when I want to buy something - it's bad enough when I'm paying myself!
We went to market, to market this morning but there were no fat pigs to be had so we jiggedy jogged into town where I managed to get my hair done with Bonnie's hairdresser. In the afternoon, having put the National Park Pass in the car, we set off to do the part of the Green Gables Shore Drive that we had missed the other day.

Obviously a great tourist attraction. |

This coastline is eroding very quickly. |
Fox on the side of the road. The skunk we saw earlier was more camera shy and skidaddled. but not before raising its tail and emitting its characteristic stink!

Another white church, this time in New Glasgow. |
We had another reason, besides church watching, for being in New Glasgow. A PEI tradition that has grown from fundraisers that were held in church and community halls across the island is the lobster supper with all the 'fixins'. The New Glasgow Lobster Supper started back in 1958 as a fundraiser for young farmers. At the time the cost was $1.50. It costs a bit more today but we were not going to miss out on something so traditional, especially when it involved lobster! When we arrived after 5 p.m. there was already a queue but we were accommodated quickly and settled ourselves to the proffered fare - all you can eat of seafood chowder, steamed mussels and salads (3 courses), followed by the piece de resistance, a lobster each (one and a half pounds of hot lobster) with dipping melted butter, followed by all you could eat of a choice of 5 pies and 3 ice-creams. We did our best! The lobster was lovely, as were the chowder and mussels.
All bibbed up and ready to tuck in!
