Bourton on the Water

Carol and Stephen joined us at our home exchange for the weekend. As we were reasonably close to the Cotswolds we decided to have a look at them. We spent most of the day in Bourton on the Water, considered to be the Venice of the Cotswolds and known for its low bridges and traditional stone houses. We spent most time in Birdland Park and Gardens where we saw lots of rare and exotic birds. The park is set in 9 acres of gardens and woodland along the winding river Windrush and has a trail enlivened by talking trees and animals and dinosaurs.

At the entrance there were alpacas

For some reason there was a mock-up of the Orient Express with Paddington waiting to go on a trip. I decided to join him and take part in his adventures

There were penguins but for some reason we took no photos of them.

This was the talking tree

Obviously a very stressful job from the look of my face!

This park was very enjoyable but it had lots of unrelated things without a central theme.

Following our visit we had a walk through the town which indeed is very pretty. Then we visited the model village and then home.

Out and about near Tenbury Wells

There are lots of gardens to be visited in the region around Tenbury Wells. I can't remember the name of this one where we enjoyed a walk. I should write everything up closer to the time as my memory is not very good.
