Cold War Bunker

Brian and Jim were very keen on going to the Cold War Bunker in York. I was not really interested and was surprised that they so readily agreed to my tentative suggestion of me staying put to pack. So that meant everyone was happy!

Operations Room

Seemingly this measures explosions. Unfortunately it goes mad on Guy Fawke's night because it is very sensitive.

There were 120 volunteers. The bunker could accommodate only 60 in an emergency. They operated a warm bed policy as there were not enough beds for everyone so when one person got up for duty an off duty volunteer took his/her warm bed.
