At this stage there seems to be few places left to visit but we were not going to stay in the house as it is too much like a cave!
First of all we went to a Boulanger that Fiona had recommended and got our breakfast bread. Then we had a look at the market and were tempted to buy cherries and melon - both delicious. I also bought a little goat’s cheese - a palourdin I think. The stallholder gave me a little to taste and I really liked it so I am looking forward to having that for tea.
Following breakfast we made a brief stop in Aigues Mortes - to buy riz a la Camarguaise and Fleur de Sel a la Camarguaise - and then we went on to Arles which we had been in the last time when we were in Provence but we had not had a look at the historical monuments.
The ancient amphitheatre
Les arenes - from all possible angles!
Some details Jim noticed as we were walking through the streets. Wouldn't Piero be impressed!
Monument of Mistral I think.
Along the Rhone
The old Priory
The square that we had visited before - Place de la Republique.
Some of the detail.
On the way home we passed beside the tour carbonniere - haven’t a clue what it is and, clearly, it was me taking the photo!
We got back home early just as the thunder and lightning started but made it to the house before the heavy showers.
